Week #9: Division I College Baseball, Top Tier Alumni Roundup:
Player of the Week:
Blake Wright, INF, Clemson
Wright continues to hit and stay in the lineup for the Tigers as he went 7 for 18, hitting .389 this past week with three multi-hit games while collecting 2 RBI's. Wright helped the Tigers beat USC-Upstate in the midweek game and helped them take 2 of 3 games from 23rd ranked Wake Forest this past weekend to improve to 22-13 overall on the year. Wright is hitting .326 on the year with 2 doubles, 6 homers, and 13 RBI's.

Scott Youngbrandt, Saint Louis
Youngbrandt continues to show his dominance on the mound this past weekend as he picked up another win in his start making him 5-1 on the year. Youngbrandt tossed 8 innings vs. George Mason giving up only 2 runs off 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5. However, that would be the Billikens only win on the weekend as they dropped 2 of 3 and fell to 18-15 overall on the year.
Tanner Mink, USF
Mink threw really well in his two relief appearances this past week. Mink in total tossed 4.2 scoreless innings giving up only 4 hits and 0 walks while striking out 1. USF lost to Florida Gulf Coast in the midweek game and Mink picked up their only win vs. Memphis over the weekend to move them to 20-16 overall on the year.
Paul Bergstrom, Creighton
Bergstrom made two relief appearances this past weekend earning the win in one of those appearances. In total, Bergstrom tossed 4.1 scoreless innings giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 7 vs. St. John's this past weekend as they swept them and improved to 21-8 overall on the year.
Nick Ficarrotta, Florida
Ficarrotta threw really well in his two relief appearances this past week vs. Florida State and Vanderbilt. Ficarrotta threw a total of 6 innings giving up only 1 earned run off 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Florida lost to Florida State in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 vs. Vanderbilt to fall to 22-14 overall on the year.
Danny Doligale, Illinois
Doligale went 6 for 17, hitting .353 this past week with as the Fighting Illini beat ISU in the midweek game and swept Northwestern to improve to 19-14 overall on the year.
Marc DeGuspie, Florida Atlantic
DeGusipe made two relief appearances this past week, throwing very well in both games. In total he threw 4.2 innings vs. #2 Miami and Western Kentucky giving up only 1 run off 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. FAU lost to Miami in the midweek game but swept Western Kentucky over the weekend to improve to 24-13 overall on the year.
Chase Centala, UCF
Centala threw really well this past week making two appearances throwing a total of 2.1 innings giving up 0 runs off 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. UCF beat Jacksonville in the midweek game but got swept by East Carolina and are now 21-15 overall on the year.
Bryce Barnett, Xavier
Barnett had a really good week in relief as he made three appearances earning a win in one of them. Barnett threw a total of 6 innings giving up only 2 runs off only 3 hits and 0 walks while striking out 6. Xavier beat Wright State in the midweek game and won 2 of 3 vs. Villanova over the weekend to improve to 19-18 overall on the year.
Cam Redding, Saint Louis
Redding went 4 for 10, hitting .400 with an RBI this past weekend but it wasn't enough as SLU lost 2 of 3 to George Mason to fall to 18-15 overall on the year.
Ray Sass, Brown
Sass had a really good week at the plate, going 5 for 15, hitting .333 with a double, 2 RBI's and 5 stolen bases. Brown beat Rhode Island in the midweek game but lost 2 of 3 to Yale over the weekend to fall to 8-19 overall on the year.
Andrew Zapka, Dayton
Zapka was really good on the mound in his two relief appearances this past week, tossing a total of 2.0 scoreless innings giving up only 3 hits and 0 walks while striking out 4. Dayton beat Ohio State in the midweek game but lost 2 of 3 to Fordham over the weekend to fall to 14-17 overall on the year.
Kellen Sarver, Illinois
Sarver went 4 for 12, hitting .333 with a homer and 4 RBI's this past week as Illinois beat ISU and swept Northwestern to improve to 19-14 overall on the year.
Kevin Davis, USC-Upstate
Davis made two relief appearances this past week, throwing a total of 1.2 scoreless innings giving up 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. USC-Upstate lost their midweek game to Clemson but swept Charleston Southern over the weekend to improve to 21-15 overall on the year.
Cam Minacci, Wake Forest
Minacci made three relief appearances this past week, tossing in total 3.1 innings giving up 2 runs off 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Minacci earned a win and a loss in both his appearances vs. Clemson this past weekend. Wake Forest beat UNC-Greensboro in the midweek game but lost 2 of 3 to Clemson over the weekend and are 27-9 overall on the year.
Stephen Hill, Liberty
Hill collected 4 hits this past week with a double and 4 RBI's as the Flames lost to Virginia Tech in the midweek game but won 2 of 3 vs. Kennesaw State over the weekend to improve to 22-12 overall on the year.
Conner Tomasic, Michigan State
Tomasic threw really well in his start this past weekend vs. Michigan but earned a loss in his efforts. Tomasic threw a 7 innings in his start giving up 3 earned runs off only 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. Michigan State got swept by Michigan and are now 13-19 overall on the year.
Michael Oh, UNC-Charlotte
Oh made one relief appearance this past weekend vs Middle Tennessee State where he went 1.1 scoreless giving up only 2 hits and 0 walks while striking out 2. Charlotte beat Winthrop in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 to MTSU to fall to 19-16 overall on the year.
Jacob Rosenkranz, Valpo
Rosenkranz made one relief appearance this past week vs. Eastern Illinois where he went 1.1 scoreless giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 1. Valpo lost to EIU in the midweek game but won 2 of 3 vs. ISU this past weekend to improve to 13-18 overall.
Keaton Rice, Bradley
Rice went 3 for 10, hitting .300 with a double and 2 RBI's this past weekend as Bradley took 2 of 3 from 16th ranked Dallas Baptist this weekend to improve to 11-18 overall on the year.
Antonio Brown, Mercer
Brown collected 4 more hits this past week with an RBI as the Bears continued to roll beating Florida A&M in the midweek game and sweeping UNC-Greensboro over the weekend to improve to 31-5 overall on the year.
Gavin Doyle, Western Michigan
Doyle collected 5 hits this past week with 4 RBI's as Western Michigan split with Miami(OH) over the weekend and are now 11-21 overall on the year.
