Weekly Top Tier Alumni Roundup for our NCAA Division II, III, NAIA & JUCO Players:


Player of the Week:

Mitch Farris, LHP/1B, Wingate (D2)

This is the 2nd time this year that Farris has been selected as the Player of the Week for our Top Tier Alums. Farris who is a two-way standout for the #2 team in the nation for Division 2 Baseball continues to dominate as a hitter and a pitcher for the Bulldogs. This week Farris got some relief work in out of the bullpen in the midweek game vs. Catawba where he threw 1.2 scoreless innings giving up 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. He also had multi-hit games in all 3 he started in this past week, going a cool 7 for 10, hitting .700 with a homer, a triple, 3 doubles and collecting 7 RBI's. Wingate beat Catawba in the midweek game and swept UVA-Wise to improve to 31-3 overall on the year. Farris on the year is hitting .369 with with 7 doubles, a triple, 4 homers and 21 RBI's. On the mound this year Farris is 3-1 with 2 saves with a 2.84 ERA in 19 innings of work with 30 strikeouts. 

Best of the Rest Highlights for our Division II, III, NAIA & JUCO players:

Jake Lotz, Lewis (D2)

Lotz threw really well out of the bullpen this past weekend for the Flyers as he picked up a win in relief tossing 3 scoreless innings giving up 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. Lewis took 3 of 4 from Missouri S&T over the weekend and improved to 9-11-1 overall. Lotz on the year has an impressive ERA of 1.17 in 15.1 innings thrown with 27 strikeouts. 

Andy Booth, Saint Leo (D2)

Booth threw really well for the 21st ranked Lions this past weekend out of the bullpen. Booth threw 2.1 scoreless innings off 3 hits and 0 walks while striking out 4. Saint Leo took 2 of 3 from Nova Southeastern to improve to 23-12 overall. Booth is 3-0 on the year with a 2.70 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched with 37 strikeouts. 

Connor Blake, IIT (D3)

Blake had another really good week at the plate this past week for IIT going 7 for 14, hitting .500 with a double and collecting 3 RBI's. IIT beat Lakeland but lost twice to Aurora to fall to 4-13 overall on the year. 

Armen Torosian. UIndy (D2)

Torosian continues to swing the bat well as a freshman for the Greyhounds as he went 5 for 14, hitting .357 this past week with a double and an RBI. UIndy lost to Kentucky Wesleyan twice and took 3 of 4 from Truman State to move to 10-14 overall on the year. Torosian is hitting .333 with 9 doubles, 4 homers and 14 RBI's. 

Luke Napleton, Quincy (D2)

Napleton collected a hit in every game this past week, going 4 for 12, hitting .333 with another homer, a double and 2 RBI's. Quincy split with Southern Indiana and are now 14-12 overall on the year. Napleton is hitting .319 with 5 doubles, 10 homers and 31 RBI's. 

Broghan O'Connor, Wash U (D3)

O'Connor went 4 for 5 this past weekend with a homer, a double and collected 4 RBI's as Wash U won twice versus North Park to improve to 9-10 overall. 

Brandon Bennitt, IIT (D3)

Bennitt collected a hit in every game this past week going 5 for 14, hitting .357 with a double and 3 RBI's. IIT beat Lakeland but lost to Aurora twice to fall to 4-13 overall on the year. 

Dylan Whitney, Johns Hopkins (D3)

Whitney collected a hit in every game as well this past week going 4 for 12, hitting .333 with two doubles and 2 RBI's as the Blue Jays split with Ursinus and are 12-10 overall on the year. 

Lucas Spence, Blackhawk (JUCO)

Spence went 3 for 6 this past week an RBI and earned a win in relief on the mound striking out the one batter he had to face. Blackhawk beat Bryant & Stratton twice to improve to 9-5 overall. 

Brian Rapanan, MIT (D3)

Rapanan made one relief appearance this past week vs. Coast Guard where he tossed 4 innings giving up only 1 earned run off 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. MIT lost to Coast Guard twice and beat USM once to move to 5-12-1 overall. 

Nick Villasenor, Saint Francis (NAIA)

Villasenor earned a win vs. Roosevelt this past weekend as he tossed 8 innings giving up only 2 runs off 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9. Saint Francis beat Calumet and IU-South Bend in the midweek games but lost 2 of 3 vs. Roosevelt to move to 13-20 overall. 

Channing Young, Saint Petersburg (JUCO)

Young threw really well this past week but earned a loss after he tossed 8 innings giving up 2 earned runs off 11 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7. St. Petersburg got swept by Florida Southwestern to fall to 14-23 overall on the year. 

Khyle Radcliffe, John A. Logan (JUCO)

Radcliffe collected 4 more hits this past week with two doubles and an RBI to help the Vols beat Wabash Valley in the midweek game and sweep Rend Lake over the weekend to improve to 24-6 overall. Radcliffe is hitting .311 on the year with 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers and 14 RBI's. 

Sam Antonacci, Heartland (JUCO)

Antonacci collected 4 hits this past with a double this past weekend as the Hawks swept ICC and improved to 20-6 overall on the year. Antonacci is hitting .490 on the year with 9 doubles, 5 triples, 9 homers and 25 RBI's. 

Robert Chayka, Kentucky Wesleyan (D2)

Chayka collected 6 hits this past week with a homer and 2 RBI's Kentucky Wesleyan beat UIndy twice in the midweek games and won 3 of 4 vs. Ohio Dominican to improve to 11-19 overall on the year.

Nick Talarico, Case Western Reserve

Talarico collected 3 hits this past weekend as the Spartans took 3 of 4 vs. Brandeis to improve to 12-11 overall on the year. 

Will Gibbs, Olney Central (JUCO)

Gibbs collected 3 more hits with 2 RBI's this past weekend as Olney Central swept Ivy Tech to improve to 20-11 overall on the year. Gibbs is hitting .409 on the year 3 doubles, a triple, 2 homers, 18 RBI's and 19 stolen bases. 

Brad White, South Suburban (JUCO)

White collected 3 hits this past week with an RBI as South Sub beat Kankakee, Joliet and College of Lake County to improve to 16-10 overall on the year. 

Logan Peterson, UIndy (D2)

Peterson earned a win in his start this past week tossing 6.2 innings giving up 3 runs off 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out 2. UIndy won 3 of 4 vs. Truman State this past weekend and are 10-14 overall on the year.
