Weekly Top Tier Alumni Roundup for our NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA & JUCO Players in their respective World Series:

NJCAA D2 World Series:


Heartland Community College won their 1st National Championship in school history this past week. Top Tier Alums on that team are Sam Antonacci, INF; Keegan Buska, RHP; Kyle Anderson, RHP. Heartland beat Lackawanna, St. Johns River twice and Southeastern Iowa to win the National Championship. Heartland finished the year with an impressive 57-5 overall record.

Antonacci continues his dominance in the World Series collecting 3 hits with a triple, a double and collecting 3 RBI's for the Hawks. Antonacci led the team in hitting finishing the year with a batting average of .515 with 32 doubles, 3 triples, 14 homers, 103 RBI's and 33 stolen bases. Antonacci will be heading to Coastal Carolina next season. 

NCAA Division III World Series:


Johns Hopkins made it to the World Series Championship game coming up just one game short losing to Lynchburg in the finals and taking Runner-up this year in the NCAA D3 World Series. Johns Hopkins had an unbelievable World Series run beating Misericordia, lost to Baldwin-Wallace then bounced back to beat Baldwin-Wallace twice to take on Lynchburg for a best of 3 series. In that they lost to Lynchburg then beat them to force a winner take all game 3 in which they lost 7-6 and finished the year 48-8 overall. Top Tier alum on this runner-up squad is Dylan Whitney, INF.

Whitney had an awesome World Series collecting hits all seven games in the World Series. He went 12 for 26, hitting .462 in the series with a double and 5 RBI's. Whitney finished the year hitting .302 with 9 doubles, 2 homers and 36 RBI's. 

WIsconsin-LaCrosse made it to the NCAA Division III World Series as well losing to Lynchburg and Salisbury to be eliminated and finishing the year 36-13 overall. The lone Top Tier Alum on this squad was Daniel Reischl, RHP. Reischl didn't see any action in the World Series as a freshman this year. Total on the year he threw 4 innings with a 0.00 ERA.

NCAA Division II World Series:


University of Indianapolis made it to the NCAA D2 World Series this year losing their first two games and getting eliminated from the tournament. The Greyhounds lost to Millersville and Cal State Bernardino to finish the year 39-21 overall. Top Tier alums on the Greyhounds World Series team this year were: Logan Peterson, RHP; Armen Torosian, 3B; Charlie Brodell, RHP; and Derek Galdoni, RHP. None of the guys got into the World Series games but what an awesome experience for the all guys to have.

Peterson although he didn't get to pitch in the World Series, had a great season for the Greyhounds. Peterson went 6-3 on the season with a 4.52 ERA in 73.2 innings pitched with 74 strikeouts.
