Player of the Week:
Khyle Radcliffe, OF, John A. Logan (JUCO)
Radcliffe collected a hit in every game this past week for the Vols, where he went 7 for 10, hitting .700 with two doubles, a triple, 3 RBI's and 4 stolen bases. The Vols beat Columbia State in the midweek game and swept Kaskaskia over the weekend to improve to 21-6 overall. Radcliffe is having a great season as he is hitting .313 on the year with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers and 13 RBI's.
Best of the Rest Highlights for our Division II, III, NAIA & JUCO players:
Angel Sandoval, St. Francis (NAIA)
Sandoval threw a gem this past weekend vs. Calumet College where he earned a win tossing a complete game giving up only 1 run off 6 hits and 0 walks while striking out 4. St. Francis lost two games vs. St. Xavier but won 2 games vs. Calumet to move to 11-18 overall on the year.
Mitch Farris, Wingate (D2)
Farris made two relief appearances this past weekend where he earned a win and a save, tossing 4 total innings giving up only 4 hits and 0 walks while striking out 7. Farris got one start in the field this past week going 2 for 3 with two doubles and 2 RBI's. Wingate beat UNC-Pembroke in the midweek game and swept Limestone over the weekend to improve to 27-3 overall record and are ranked 2nd in the nation. Farris is having a great year so far as he is 3-1 with two saves, with a 3.12 ERA in 17.1 innings of work with 27 strikeouts. Farris is also hitting .309 on the year with 4 doubles, 3 homers and 14 RBI's.
Brandon Bennitt, IIT (D3)
Bennitt went 5 for 12, hitting .416 this past week with 5 RBI's for IIT as they split with Carthage and lost two games with Rose-Hulman to fall to 4-10 overall on the year. Bennitt is hitting .382 on the year with 3 doubles, 2 homers and 17 RBI's.
Will Gibbs, Olney Central (JUCO)
Gibbs collected a hit in every game this past week, going 7 for 17, hitting .412 with two doubles and 3 RBI's. Olney Central beat Oakland City and swept Shawnee to improve to 16-11 overall on the year. Gibbs is hitting .438 on the year with 3 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and has 18 stolen bases.
Sam Antonacci, Heartland (JUCO)
Antonacci continues to swing it well as he went 5 for 13, hitting .385 this past weekend as the Hawks swept Parkland and improved to 16-6 overall on the year. Antonacci is leading the team hitting .530 on the year with 8 doubles, 5 triples, 9 homers and 25 RBI's.
Robert Chayka, Kentucky Wesleyan (D2)
Chayka had another great week at the plate going 6 for 17, hitting .353 with a double and 4 RBI's. Kentucky Wesleyan took 3 of 4 from Cedarville to improve to 6-18 overall on the year. Chayka is hitting .299 on the year with 4 doubles, a triple, 6 homers and 23 RBI's.
Nick Talarico, Case Western Reserve
Talarico went 5 for 15, hitting .333 this past week with 3 doubles and 4 RBI's as the Spartans won 3 of 4 games vs. Emory to improve to 9-10 overall. Talarico is hitting .282 on the year with 6 doubles, 2 homers and 17 RBI's.
Tommy Egan, Iowa Western (JUCO)
Egan earned another win this past week vs. Kirkwood after he tossed 4 innings giving up 1 run off only 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5. Iowa Western won 2 of 3 vs. Kirkwood to improve to 16-6 overall. Egan is 2-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 20 innings of work on the year with 31 strikeouts.
Armen Torosian, UIndy (D2)
Torosian went 3 for 9, hitting .333 this past weekend with a homer, two doubles and 4 RBI's as they split with Lewis and are now 7-11 overall on the year. Torosian is 2nd on his team this year hitting .333 with 9 doubles, 4 homers and 13 RBI's on the year so far.
Luke Napleton, Quincy (D2)
Napleton went 3 for 9, hitting .333 with 2 RBI's as the Hawks won 2 of 3 games vs. #13 ranked UIS over the weekend to improve to 12-10 overall. Napleton is hitting .317 on the year with 4 doubles, 9 homers and 29 RBI's.
Lucas Spence, Blackhawk (JUCO)
Spence went 2 for 6 with a triple and 3 RBI's as Blackhawk won both games vs. Harper this past weekend to improve to 6-4 overall on the year.
Nick Baldassano, Aurora (D3)
Baldassano went 3 for 5 this past weekend as they won both games vs. Millikin to improve to 10-3 overall. Baldassano is 2nd on the team hitting .425 on the year with 2 doubles and 13 RBI's.
Nick Villasenor, St. Francis (NAIA)
Villasenor earned a win vs. Calumet this past weekend as he threw a complete game giving up 3 runs off 10 hits and 0 walks while striking out 10. St. Francis lost to St. Xavier twice and beat Calumet twice to improve to 11-18 overall on the year.
Connor Blake, IIT (D3)
Blake collected 5 hits this past week with a double and a triple. Blake also earned the only win on the mound tossing 7 innings giving up only 1 run off 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. IIT is 4-10 overall and Blake is hitting .410 on the year with 3 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and 10 RBI's.
Dylan Whitney, Johns Hopkins (D3)
Whitney went 3 for 8 this past weekend with 3 RBI's and Johns Hopkins is 10-8 overall on the year.
Luke Pappas, St. Leo (D2)
Pappas threw one inning of relief this past week where he gave up 0 runs on 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. St. Leo beat Florida Southern in the midweek game and won 2 of 3 vs. #9 Rollins to improve to 21-10 overall on the year.
David Burch, Morton (JUCO)
Burch collected two hits and an RBI as Morton split with Bryant & Stratton College to move to 12-5 overall. Burch is hitting .453 on the year with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 13 RBI's and 10 stolen bases.
Ronnie Nowak, Marshalltown (JUCO)
Nowak collected 3 hits this past week with a double and an RBI. Marshalltown beat Ellsworth twice but got swept by Indian Hills to fall to 5-14 overall on the year.
