Player of the Week:

Mitch Farris, LHP/1B, Wingate (D2)

For the 2nd week in a row and for the 3rd time this year, Mitch Farris is our Player of the Week as he continues to dominate the D2 world both at the plate and on the mound for the 2nd ranked team in the nation. This time Farris got it done vs. the 17th ranked team in the nation, Newberry this past weekend. At the plate he went 7 for 11, hitting .636 blasting 4 homers and collecting 11 RBI's as they won 2 of 3 this weekend and improved to 33-5 overall on the year. Farris also picked up a win on the mound to top it off tossing 2 innings of relief giving up 1 earned run off only 1 hit and 0 walks while striking out 4. 

Best of the Rest Highlights for our Division II, III, NAIA & JUCO players:

Andy Booth, Saint Leo (D2)

Booth made two relief appearances this past weekend for the 23rd ranked Lions tossing a total of 3.2 innings giving up 0 runs off only 1 hit and 0 walks while striking out 2. Saint Leo beat Eckerd in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Florida Tech to improve to 26-13 overall on the year.

Sam Antonacci, Heartland (JUCO)

Antonacci continues to stay on fire at the plate as he went 6 for 15, hitting .400 this past week with a homer, a double and 5 RBI's. Heartland swept Spoon River and improved to 24-6 overall on the year. 

Tommy Egan, Iowa Western (JUCO)

Egan picked another win this past weekend vs. Marshalltown where he tossed 4 innings in his start giving up 0 earned runs off only 2 hits and 0 walks while striking out 8. Iowa Western beat Southwestern twice in the midweek games and swept Marshalltown over the weekend to improve to 26-6 overall. 

David Burch, Morton (JUCO)

Burch went 7 for 19, hitting .368 this past week with 4 RBI's. Morton beat Milwaukee Tech, Kankakee, Waubonsee Valley twice and split with Lake County to improve to 18-6 overall on the year. 

Luke Napleton, Quincy (D2)

Napleton swung the bat really again this past week as he went 4 for 8, hitting .500 with 5 RBI's. Quincy won 3 of 4 vs. Lewis this past week as they improved to 17-13 overall on the year. 

Logan Peterson, UIndy (D2)

Peterson threw really well this past weekend in his start but got a no-decision after tossing 4.2 innings giving up only 1 earned run off 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8. UIndy split with Purdue Northwest in the midweek games and split with Missouri S&T over the weekend to move to 13-17 overall on the year. 

Connor Blake, IIT (D3)

Blake continues to swing the bat really well as he went 10 for 25, hitting .400 this past week with a double and 3 RBI's. IIT however lost twice to Benedictine, Aurora and St. Norbert to fall to 4-17 overall on the year. 

Nick Talarico, Case Western Reserve (D3)

Talarico went 6 for 17, hitting .353 this past week with a double and 2 RBI's as they lost twice to Marietta but beat Baldwin & Wallace and John Carroll to move to 14-13 overall on the year. 

Austin Divello, Coe (D3)

Divello earned his 5th save of the year this past week throwing 1.1 innings giving up 0 runs off 0 hits and 0 walks while striking out 1. Coe swept Central College and lost one game to Dubuque to move to 13-10 overall on the year. 

Armen Torosian, UIndy (D2)

Torosian went 4 for 12, hitting .333 with a double and 2 RBI's as UIndy split with both of their opponents this past week to move to 13-17 overall on the year. 

Tommy Nelsen, Wisconsin-LaCrosse (D3)

Nelsen collected 5 hits with a double and an RBI this past weekend where they lost 3 of 4 games vs. 20th ranked, Wisconsin-Stevens Point. UW-LaCrosse is now 12-9 overall on the year.

Brandon Bennitt, IIT (D3)

Bennitt collected 6 hits this past week with two doubles with 3 RBI's. IIT didn't win a game this past week and fell to 4-17 overall on the year. 

Nick Villasenor, Saint Francis (NAIA)

Villasenor earned a complete game win where he tossed 8 innings giving up 2 runs off 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. St. Francis won 2 of 3 vs. Judson and beat Trinity International twice to improve to 17-21 overall on the year.

Brian Rapanan, MIT (D3)

Rapanan had a 4 innings start where he earned a no-decision after only giving up 1 run off 2 hits and 4 walks while striking out 4. MIT lost twice to Springfield, but beat Clark twice to move to 7-13-1 overall on the year. 

Will Gibbs, Olney Central (JUCO)

Gibbs went 5 for 10, hitting .500 with an RBI. The Spartans lost Lake Land and lost 2 of 3 to Kaskaskia to fall to 21-14 overall on the year. 

Lucas Spence, Blackhawk (JUCO)

Spence went 5 for 14, hitting .357 with a triple and 6 RBI's. Blackhawk beat Highland, Sauk Valley and Joliet twice to improve to 15-5 overall on the year. 

Joel Sarver, Northwest Florida State (JUCO)

Sarver threw really well in relief this past weekend vs. Chipola. Sarver threw 3 innings up only 1 run off 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. Northwest Florida State is now 27-15 overall on the year. 

Brendan Holloway, Oakton (JUCO)

Holloway collected 4 hits this past week with a double and 3 RBI's. Oakton beat Waubonsee Valley twice but then lost to Kankakee and Bryant & Stratton twice to improve to 11-14 overall on the year.

Dylan Whitney, Johns Hopkins (D3)

Whitney collected 4 more hits this past week with a double and 3 RBI's. Johns Hopkins beat Dickinson twice and split with Swarthmore to move them to 14-11 overall on the year.

Nick Baldassano, Aurora (D3)

Baldassano collected 3 hits with 5 RBI's. Aurora's record is something to look at down the road. Aurora beat IIT and Marian twice to improve to 15-4 overall on the year. 

Brennan Fisher, Quincy (D2)

Fisher went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI as the Hawks took 3 of 4 vs. Lewis this past week to improve to 17-13 overall on the year. 

Luke Pappas, Saint Leo (D2)

Pappas made one relief appearance this past week tossing two scoreless innings off 0 hits and 4 walks while striking out 0. Saint Leo is 26-13 overall on the year. 

Khyle Radcliffe, John A. Logan (JUCO)

Radcliffe collected 3 hits this past weekend as the Vols lost two midweek games vs. Wabash Valley and they lost 2 of 3 vs. Southeastern Illinois to fall to 25-10 overall on the year.
