Weekly Top Tier Alumni Roundup for our NCAA Division II, III, NAIA & JUCO Players:



Player of the Week:

Mitch Farris, 1B/LHP, Wingate (D2)

Farris continued to be one of the biggest threats in the NCAA Division II Tournament as he had dominating performances both at the plate and on the mound in the Southeast Regionals. Farris collected a hit in every game going 7 for 16, hitting .438 with a double and an RBI. More impressively than that is that on the mound vs. Young Harris to get them to the Championship game, he threw a complete 9 inning game shutout giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out a staggering 14 batters. However, it wasn't enough as Wingate lost in the Championship game of the Southeast Regional vs. Columbus State, finishing their season 48-10 overall. Farris finished the year earning 1st Team All-Region after hitting .367 with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 9 homers and 49 RBI's. He also finished 7-1 on the mound with 3 saves in 19 appearances, earning a 1.70 ERA in 53 innings pitched with 69 strikeouts.

Best of the Rest Highlights for our Division II, III, NAIA & JUCO players:

Sam Antonacci, Heartland (JUCO)

Antonacci continues to be one of the hottest hitters in JUCO baseball this year as he went 5 for 8, hitting .625 with a homer, a double and 2 RBI's in the Midwest District Championships this past week. Heartland beat Danville twice and Lincoln Land twice to claim the Midwest District crown and are moving onto the Division II JUCO World Series this weekend. Heartland is currently 48-8 overall on the year. 

Khyle Radcliffe, John A. Logan (JUCO)

Radcliffe went 2 for 5 with a double in the Midwest District Championships. John A. Logan lost to South Suburban and Wabash Valley to finish the year 41-17 overall. Radcliffe finished the year hitting .321 with 15 doubles, 3 triples, 4 homers and 28 RBI's. 

Lucas Spence, Blackhawk (JUCO)

Spence went 3 for 10, hitting .300 with a double and 3 RBI's in the Region IV Division II JUCO Tournament. Blackhawk lost to Madison twice and beat Kankakee to finish the year 35-20 overall. Spence earned 1st Team All-Region honors after hitting .354 on the year with 8 doubles, 6 triples, 4 homers, 51 RBI's and 10 stolen bases. 

Andy Booth, Saint Leo (D2)

Booth made two relief appearances in the NCAA Division II South Regional. In total he threw 4.2  innings giving up 2 earned runs off 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Saint Leo lost to Lee twice and bat Delta State to finish the season 36-17 overall. Booth finished the year 5-0 in 21 appearances with a 2.28 ERA in 55.1 innings pitched with 55 strikeouts. 

Luke Napleton, Quincy (D2)

Napleton collected 3 hits and an RBI in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. Quincy lost in the opening game to Northwood but then came storming back to to beat Davenport, Northwood and then Davenport again in the Championship to advance to the Super Regionals this weekend vs. UIS. Quincy is 36-23 overall on the year. 

Brett Taucher, Quincy (D2)

Taucher also got to be involved in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional as he threw 1 inning of relief giving up 2 runs off 3 hits and 2 walks with 1 strikeout. Quincy won the Midwest Regional and will advance to play UIS in the Super Regionals this weekend. Quincy is 36-23 overall on the year.

Austin Divello, Coe (D3)

Divello made one relief appearance in the Division III Regional vs. North Central where he took the loss after tossing 0.2 innings giving up 2 runs off 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 1. Coe lost to North Central, then beat Lawrence then lost to UW-Stevens-Point to finish the year 22-21 overall. Divello finished the year 0-4 with 7 saves in 17 appearances with a 3.71 ERA in 26.2 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts. 

Tyler Preissing, Aurora (D3)

Preissing made two relief appearances in the NCAA Division III Regional throwing a total of 2.2 innings giving up 3 runs off 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. Aurora beat Augustana, then lost to UW-Whitewater, then beat Augustana and then lost again to UW-Whitewater in the Championship to finish the year 36-11 overall. Preissing finished the year 1-0 with a 4.96 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts. 

Rance Bryant, Kellogg (JUCO)

Bryant collected 2 hits in the Region XII Championships this past week. Kellogg bounced back nicely after losing in the 1st game to Grand Rapids to come all the way back to beat Edison, Grand Rapids and Lansing before losing to Lansing in the Championship game and finishing the year 38-13 overall. 

Brendan Holloway, Oakton (JUCO)

Holloway went 0 for 3 in the Division III Great Lakes District Tournament. Oakton won both games vs. Owen CC and are moving onto the Division III JUCO World Series this weekend. Oakton is 33-26-1 overall on the year. 

Nick Baldassano, Aurora (D3)

Baldassano went 0 for 1 in his one pinch-hit appearance in the Division III Regional. Aurora lost in the Championship game vs. UW-Whitewater to finish the year 36-11 overall. Baldassano finished the year hitting .271 with 3 doubles and 23 RBI's. 

Danny Nuccio, North Central (D3)

Nuccio got one at bat, going 0 for 1 in the NCAA Division III Regional. North Central lost in the Championship to UW-Stevens-Point to finish the year 35-14 overall.
